I love this picture! The kids had soccer pictures this weekend and I got one of them together, I love the freckles on their noses.
Everyone always tells me how my kids all look alike, but I have a hard time seeing it. I see it in this picture. I am a little biased, but they are so cute!

JT concert

I officially have the best husband around! He came home from work last Friday and told me he had a surprise for me. He handed me an envelope with a beautiful card and 2 tickets to the Justin Timberlake concert! He bought them for me and my sister, so we could have a fun night together. So we went last night and it was SOOO much fun.

I have been to a lot of concerts, but this was the best one I have ever seen. WOW, he was amazing! Angie and I snuck down to the lower level and got the best seats in the whole arena, seriously they were the best! We were probably about 150 feet from the stage, we could see him so well. It was funny because all the seats around us filled up and we thought we were going to have to go back to our seats, but no one ever came and we got to stay for the whole concert. Timbaland was there too and came out for a couple of songs and did some cool things. But JT really amazed me with how talented he is - he sang, danced and played the piano & guitar. I loved it the entire time and it was great to be there with my sister. She is the ultimate JT fan, ever since she was 14, so it was fun to go with her. I have to admit, I loved his music before yesterday, but I am a huge fan now too! Thanks Pete for giving us such a great night!!

2 of the best concerts in 2 weeks, how lucky am I!!

Here are some of the video clips I took. The camera actually makes them look further away than they were! Sorry about the shake - it was hard not to move.

Def Leppard Concert!

Friday night we went to the Def Leppard concert with some friends, it was sooo much fun. I love Def Leppard, it was my third time seeing them in concert. My first time was when I was a Junior in high school, my aunt took me and a friend to see their Adrenalize concert and I was hooked. I love their music. This time they played at an outdoor ampitheater so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the night. It was great! There were so many people there - I have never seen so many at a concert - it was a sea of heads, all dancing! It was a perfect night - great friends, weather & music - minus the questionable fumes passing by every so often! I cant wait to see them again next year!

Here is a little clip from my camera at the concert, it is one of my favorite Def Leppard songs!

Our Dancer

S started dance on Monday and I was so impressed! She has taken a couple of classes before and barely learned anything. She went for her first lesson and came away with a little routine already. It was so fun to watch, H and I both wanted to get up and do it with her! She was really excited to start and she loved it. They are going to do a couple of recitals - I am looking forward to them already. There is something about a little girl all dressed up in dance clothes and shoes that is so cute!!

T had his first soccer game yesterday & he did so good! He scored both of his teams goals and was so happy. It was great for us to watch him, he has been waiting forever for this. He has been talking about it all week and loves that it is finally his turn to do the things he has been watching his sister do. And he is really good at it! I love to watch the 5 year olds play soccer, they are so cute. I am so glad he is happy and active! I love him!

Friday Sing!

Friday sing is so much fun, the kids look forward to it all week. S got into the spirit club at school and now she gets to go up in front of the classes and help "lead" the songs. I went to watch her the first time, it was great. She was a little embarrased at first, but she warmed up & loved it. She had a sub in her class that day and even talked her into letting her go to both sing sessions - she is only supposed to go to the morning one! So, she had a fun day. I am so glad she gets to do so many different and great activities.

H loved dancing and singing to all the songs, she was so funny. At the end the mascot Cody came out and she was so excited! Until a teacher pulled her over to him - I caught her reaction in this picture!

Goodbye Highchair!

It is amazing how fast the last couple of weeks have gone by. I feel like it is always Monday, it is so wierd! We are still trying to get a schedule and figure things out around here. It is getting better every day and I am slowly trying to figure out how to get everything done. I will be so happy when I dont have to clean my house top to bottom everyday, it is starting to get to me. This morning I cleaned for a couple of hours and thought about all of the other things I could be doing with my time each day - I cant wait!

H thinks she is so big. She has decided that she doesn't want to sit in the highchair anymore! So yesterday we went out and bought her a booster chair - She LOVES it. She told me she is a big girl now and is so excited to eat. I am not as excited - she is messy and she doesn't stay sitting down - I liked it when I could buckle her in! We will see how it goes, she did pretty good today!

Labor Day Fun!

We had a great day swimming and not doing much. The kids have been asking me over and over when we were going to swim, especially since it has been so hot lately. So, they were happy to be in the water again. It is their favorite thing to do!

State Fair

We had a ton of fun at the state fair with our friends even thought it was 100+ the entire night!

The kids dancing!

I have not had my computer for about a week now and it has been so hard! I knew I got on it a lot, but I didn't realize how much I need it now. I am so happy to have it back - I have made 4 blog entries tonight!! I told Laurie that I had made a jibjab video too and that I would post it - so here it is. We love it, the kids laugh and laugh every time they watch it! Enjoy!

Star in Your Own JibJab! It's Free!

Party!!

We had the best party this weekend! We had about 30 people over and had a great time talking & eating - my two favorite things! We were so happy everyone came. It made us realize how lucky we are to have such great friends. I have to say though, my scale was way up after this weekend, I think I had a little too many cookies. If we ever move, we will for sure have another party and invite everyone over again! Thanks to all who came!

O.k., I have to say thanks to Camie also for showing me on her blog how to do all of these cool picture shows. They are so much fun I have done 3 of them tonight!

Happy Birthday Pete!

Pete had his birthday this week and we had a couple of celebrations! He turned the big 35! It is wierd to say that, even though I dont think it is old. It sounds wierd because right after we met he turned 24 - I was almost 20 - and I really dont feel any different, but so much time has gone bye. I wonder how fast the next ten years are going to go! Happy Birthday Peder, love you!

"going to school"

H does not undertand that she is two. She thinks she is five just like her brother, and she adores him. So when it is time to walk him to school, she has to put on her backpack too! The other day we got to school and I kissed him goodbye and then he walked off to his line - then H came up to me kissed me and said "Goodbye mom, I'm going to school with T." She had on her little backpack and it was so cute!

First day of school!

I cant believe another school year has started! I controlled myself, but I got a little sad today when we were walking up to school. Every year since S has started kindergarten I let her walk ahead of me to take pictures - and every year T is walking right behind her. They are always some of my most favorite pictures. Today they were all walking just like usual (except this time H was in the picture too!), but they all looked so big. It was really a huge difference from last year and it made me sad. I think I have a harder time with changing grades than I do with birthdays. I was o.k. when S turned 8, it didn't seem any different than the day before when she was seven. But going to 3rd grade! That is a big step - and I remember when I was in 3rd grade - I thought I was so big.

T started kindergarten today! He was so excited and happy to be there. He had a great day and loved his teacher. I know he is going to do well, he loves to learn and is such a smart little boy. He is so sweet too. I was teasing him tonight and told him he couldn't go to school tomorrow because I missed him too much today. He grabbed my face and told me "that is the way it has got to be." I hope he always knows how proud I am of him and how much I love him.

S had a great day too. She is really happy because she has her friend Mackenzie in her class this year. She loved her teacher also - she reminds her of her teacher last year whom she adored. She just seems to be so big this year - I know I will look back and realize how she is still a baby. I love her so much.

Both of the students! It was a great first day!

perfect day??

I had the perfect day planned out today. Pete went to work and I was going to take the kids out Letterboxing. We love to go, it is our new activity we like to do as a family. It is really fun and we feel like we are detectives/explorers! Anyway, I found out there was a letterbox at the park with the cement slides everyone has been going to and that there was another one at Maidu park. So we were going to go to the cement slide park, then out for some Sonic drinks, then to the Maidu park. O.k., I dont know if it was just me today, but none of it worked out! It was so frustrating. We couldn't find the box at the first park (although the kids loved the slides!) and then the box at Maidu was so far from where we parked we had to turn back and give up. It was so disappointing. But at least we got our slushes - I love the lemonberry sonic! I am determined to try again - we will find the boxes!

S was so happy today because she got to trade in some presents for a new Webkinz pet. She LOVES her webkinz! Grandma had to talk her into getting one at the beginning of the summer and now she is an addict. She gets on the phone with her friends and talks to them on the phone while she plays against them on the computer. It makes me laugh. It is amazing to me how well she can navigate through the site and can figure things out on the computer!

Today was also the first day of soccer and the first day of a busy schedule for us. It is T's first season for soccer and his practices start at 3:45 two times a week. Then S starts her practice at 5:30 two-three times a week. So that means we have soccer from 3:45 - 7:00 twice a week! They were both so happy to have it starting, especially T, it is finally his turn to be involved in all of the things his sister has done.

Oh, and today is the first day we got H's hair all the way into a ponytail! She looks so dang cute and so old!

Weekend in Reno

This weekend we went up to Reno to spend our last summer weekend with family. On Saturday we went to Sand Harbor in Tahoe and let the kids play on the beach. It is so beautiful there! I sat there on the beach and was just amazed at how pretty it is. It was so fun to sit back and watch the kids and be in such a beautiful place. The kids had the best time, of course it was water, sand and food - all the things that make them happy. And they didn't even think the water was that cold! I got in it with my sister and I felt like I was swimming in snow, my legs were seriously numb. But they thought it was great and swam the whole time.
We went back to my sister's house for a great dinner - we had an early b-day dinner for Pete and my parents drove all the way with steaks to help us celebrate! Then we stayed up and played games all night. We love the game Settlers and it seems like we only get to play it when we go to Reno. We had a great weekend! Angie and Brock always make us feel so comfy in their home - thanks guys, love you!

Annie

Today S, my mom and I got to go to see the Music Circus production of Annie. It was so fun. My friend Kellie put it all together and a big group of us girls met at the theater - thanks Kellie! It was especially fun for S because one of her good friends from school played the orphan Molly. I loved it because Annie was my favorite movie when I was a kid, I used to try and watch it every day. I would listen to the record (yes, record) all the time! I cant believe how good the kids in the play were, they did such a good job. It was fun to get out with just my mom and S too! We went out to lunch before and had a good girls day out. We love to do things with each other - we definately need to do that more!

S and Grandma!

S and her friends in front of the theater - they are such cute girls.

Family visit...

This last weekend was great, we got to see some of Pete's family! His niece Kara flew in and stayed with us for a couple of days. It was so great to see her, it had been a couple of years since we had gotten together. She is really fun - I love her because she makes it so easy to laugh. We stayed up the first night she was here until almost 2 in the morning watching funny clips on youtube. Not so smart, but fun. I wish she lived closer, I would love to see her more. The kids love her too!
Then Pete's brother Steve and his wife Maryanne flew in for her daughters wedding on Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding at Capital Park in downtown Sacramento and then they had a fun reception at Tunel 21. It was great to get together, we loved having them here.

I look pretty!

S had a friend come over today and they had a great time together! We went over to grandma's and went swimming all day. The kids barely came out of the water, good thing because it was hot! They are cute girls.

T found a little friend in the grass today. He was not afraid of the little lizard at all - it was walking all over his arms and even went on top of his head. It freaked me out just watching it in his hair, but he loved it!

When it gets quiet in the house we start to get a little worried. Well, it got quiet tonight and so I asked T to go and make sure his little sister was okay. She is a very busy one. She is sweet, funny and kind - but very curious and busy. He came back down the stairs hiding her behind his back. He said,"She's o.k, but wait till you see her." I looked at her and her face was red - and in T's hand was a new stick of lipstick. She had gotten into my makeup in my bathroom! I guess I should be surprised it hasn't happened yet. I brought her back upstairs to see what kind of mess she made and to stick her in the tub - and I grabbed my camera to document the event! I decided to have her hold the lipstick again so I could take a picture and remember what she had done. Well, she happened to be standing in front of my long mirror and when she turned around I caught her reaction on the camera. Seriously, this is frame by frame her reaction - looking, surprise and then liking it!! It really makes me laugh when I see these pictures. She is so funny.

yummy cookies!!

S & T made their first batch of cookies today, and they did really good! They decided on peanut butter cookies & they did pretty much everything themselves. I helped them read the recipe and they put it all together. I haven't made cookies in a long time - and I know why - I have no will power and cookies are my thing. I want to swipe one every time I walk by. I wish I had taken some pics of the kids making them!! But I have always wanted to take pics of cookies, so here they are - they wont last long!

Tonight after I put the older 2 to bed H and I came downstairs for our nightly routine. Only, tonight she wanted to put on some dress-up wings. I love it when they wear wings, so I Iet her play for a little while. She stripped off all her clothes and put on the wings and we went outside. She ran all over the yard and then turned to me and said. "It's not working. I cant fly." It was so cute!! Then the sprinklers turned on and she jumped so high!

day at the park

This summer is just flying by! I cant believe how fast it is going, it is making me sad. We are going to play a little harder to make sure we are enjoying every single day we have left!

Today we had swim again, we just started the last of our 4 weeks. It makes me so happy to see how well they are doing. S is amazing, she makes swimming actually look pretty. T is trying so hard and doing so good! His teacher last time suggested on his report card for him to stay in the same level, but then checked off all the requirements. He was upset and so I told him I would move him up a class if he worked really hard - and he is! I am really proud of both of them.

Swimming wasn't enough to get out all of their energy, so we headed over to the park to ride bikes and play. They love to ride bikes!

It was really humid today, check out H's hair - it was a great hair day! I love it.
