The kids dancing!

I have not had my computer for about a week now and it has been so hard! I knew I got on it a lot, but I didn't realize how much I need it now. I am so happy to have it back - I have made 4 blog entries tonight!! I told Laurie that I had made a jibjab video too and that I would post it - so here it is. We love it, the kids laugh and laugh every time they watch it! Enjoy!

Party!!

We had the best party this weekend! We had about 30 people over and had a great time talking & eating - my two favorite things! We were so happy everyone came. It made us realize how lucky we are to have such great friends. I have to say though, my scale was way up after this weekend, I think I had a little too many cookies. If we ever move, we will for sure have another party and invite everyone over again! Thanks to all who came!

O.k., I have to say thanks to Camie also for showing me on her blog how to do all of these cool picture shows. They are so much fun I have done 3 of them tonight!

Happy Birthday Pete!

Pete had his birthday this week and we had a couple of celebrations! He turned the big 35! It is wierd to say that, even though I dont think it is old. It sounds wierd because right after we met he turned 24 - I was almost 20 - and I really dont feel any different, but so much time has gone bye. I wonder how fast the next ten years are going to go! Happy Birthday Peder, love you!

"going to school"

H does not undertand that she is two. She thinks she is five just like her brother, and she adores him. So when it is time to walk him to school, she has to put on her backpack too! The other day we got to school and I kissed him goodbye and then he walked off to his line - then H came up to me kissed me and said "Goodbye mom, I'm going to school with T." She had on her little backpack and it was so cute!

First day of school!

I cant believe another school year has started! I controlled myself, but I got a little sad today when we were walking up to school. Every year since S has started kindergarten I let her walk ahead of me to take pictures - and every year T is walking right behind her. They are always some of my most favorite pictures. Today they were all walking just like usual (except this time H was in the picture too!), but they all looked so big. It was really a huge difference from last year and it made me sad. I think I have a harder time with changing grades than I do with birthdays. I was o.k. when S turned 8, it didn't seem any different than the day before when she was seven. But going to 3rd grade! That is a big step - and I remember when I was in 3rd grade - I thought I was so big.

T started kindergarten today! He was so excited and happy to be there. He had a great day and loved his teacher. I know he is going to do well, he loves to learn and is such a smart little boy. He is so sweet too. I was teasing him tonight and told him he couldn't go to school tomorrow because I missed him too much today. He grabbed my face and told me "that is the way it has got to be." I hope he always knows how proud I am of him and how much I love him.

S had a great day too. She is really happy because she has her friend Mackenzie in her class this year. She loved her teacher also - she reminds her of her teacher last year whom she adored. She just seems to be so big this year - I know I will look back and realize how she is still a baby. I love her so much.

Both of the students! It was a great first day!

perfect day??

I had the perfect day planned out today. Pete went to work and I was going to take the kids out Letterboxing. We love to go, it is our new activity we like to do as a family. It is really fun and we feel like we are detectives/explorers! Anyway, I found out there was a letterbox at the park with the cement slides everyone has been going to and that there was another one at Maidu park. So we were going to go to the cement slide park, then out for some Sonic drinks, then to the Maidu park. O.k., I dont know if it was just me today, but none of it worked out! It was so frustrating. We couldn't find the box at the first park (although the kids loved the slides!) and then the box at Maidu was so far from where we parked we had to turn back and give up. It was so disappointing. But at least we got our slushes - I love the lemonberry sonic! I am determined to try again - we will find the boxes!

S was so happy today because she got to trade in some presents for a new Webkinz pet. She LOVES her webkinz! Grandma had to talk her into getting one at the beginning of the summer and now she is an addict. She gets on the phone with her friends and talks to them on the phone while she plays against them on the computer. It makes me laugh. It is amazing to me how well she can navigate through the site and can figure things out on the computer!

Today was also the first day of soccer and the first day of a busy schedule for us. It is T's first season for soccer and his practices start at 3:45 two times a week. Then S starts her practice at 5:30 two-three times a week. So that means we have soccer from 3:45 - 7:00 twice a week! They were both so happy to have it starting, especially T, it is finally his turn to be involved in all of the things his sister has done.

Oh, and today is the first day we got H's hair all the way into a ponytail! She looks so dang cute and so old!

Weekend in Reno

This weekend we went up to Reno to spend our last summer weekend with family. On Saturday we went to Sand Harbor in Tahoe and let the kids play on the beach. It is so beautiful there! I sat there on the beach and was just amazed at how pretty it is. It was so fun to sit back and watch the kids and be in such a beautiful place. The kids had the best time, of course it was water, sand and food - all the things that make them happy. And they didn't even think the water was that cold! I got in it with my sister and I felt like I was swimming in snow, my legs were seriously numb. But they thought it was great and swam the whole time.
We went back to my sister's house for a great dinner - we had an early b-day dinner for Pete and my parents drove all the way with steaks to help us celebrate! Then we stayed up and played games all night. We love the game Settlers and it seems like we only get to play it when we go to Reno. We had a great weekend! Angie and Brock always make us feel so comfy in their home - thanks guys, love you!

Annie

Today S, my mom and I got to go to see the Music Circus production of Annie. It was so fun. My friend Kellie put it all together and a big group of us girls met at the theater - thanks Kellie! It was especially fun for S because one of her good friends from school played the orphan Molly. I loved it because Annie was my favorite movie when I was a kid, I used to try and watch it every day. I would listen to the record (yes, record) all the time! I cant believe how good the kids in the play were, they did such a good job. It was fun to get out with just my mom and S too! We went out to lunch before and had a good girls day out. We love to do things with each other - we definately need to do that more!

S and Grandma!

S and her friends in front of the theater - they are such cute girls.

Family visit...

This last weekend was great, we got to see some of Pete's family! His niece Kara flew in and stayed with us for a couple of days. It was so great to see her, it had been a couple of years since we had gotten together. She is really fun - I love her because she makes it so easy to laugh. We stayed up the first night she was here until almost 2 in the morning watching funny clips on youtube. Not so smart, but fun. I wish she lived closer, I would love to see her more. The kids love her too!
Then Pete's brother Steve and his wife Maryanne flew in for her daughters wedding on Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding at Capital Park in downtown Sacramento and then they had a fun reception at Tunel 21. It was great to get together, we loved having them here.
